Henry & Cecilia

The Henry and Cecilia foundation aims to assist individuals, organisations and businesses that add value to society and humanity.

Henry and Cecilia survived the horrors of the Second World War, arriving in Melbourne in 1948, after an arduous sea voyage. They were penniless and had no relatives or friends. They both started work immediately, every day, sometimes two jobs. Through their hard work, determination, and intelligence, they were able to build a successful business and contribute to the Australian economy and community.

They donated to numerous charities and assisted countless individuals to help them realize their ambitions. They always gave with compassion and caring. They were open minded and flexible.

This foundation aims to honour their life by helping people who add value to humanity and society. There are two main activities. The first involves donations to worthy and legitimate charities. The second is called KickStart, and as the name suggests, aims to provide initial funding to people with ideas, but without the means to move forward and implement them.

KickStart aims to provide initial financial assistance to individuals who have robust business ideas without the means to move forward and implement them. We grant loans without any interest rates and we also do not require security for the loan. In the spirit of humanity, we trust individuals to repay the loan once their business venture is successful so we can use that money to help others just like them.

How does it work?

Tell us about your Project or idea by emailing us or completing our online application form. We will also accept hand written applications, which can be dropped off at our Port Melbourne office. The aim of the form is to get an overview of your project and requirements for financial assistance.
Our team will review the form/email within 3 business days of receiving it and will be in touch with you.
Should your initial application / Expression of interest be accepted, we will contact you for more information and/or a meeting in person.
If the application is accepted, you will be granted a loan which you will need to repay once your business is successful. A loan agreement will be signed by both parties before the money is transferred.

What happens next?

2. Our team will review your application and will contact you within 3 business days of receiving your application.

The Foundation donates to a select group of worthy charities, that have a proven track record of genuinely helping those in need. This includes animals and nature.

A key decision making criteria is the percentage of donation that is used to run the organisation. We want our contribution to have maximum impact and therefore, we only support charities that keep their administration and fundraising costs below 25%
